Shaunna is a Mexican American artist with a lifelong appreciation for the eerie, the unusual, and the undefined. Growing up in Southern California, she often found herself caught between worlds, never quite fitting neatly into one cultural identity or another.

Her art is a reflection of her ever-changing fascinations. A lover of horror movies, folklore, and nature, she blends elements of storytelling, mystery, and emotion into pieces that invite viewers to explore their interpretations.

My work explores the space between belonging and otherness, tradition and individuality, the macabre and the beautiful. As a Mexican American artist, I navigate the complexities of culture, identity, and personal fascination through watercolor and ink. Rather than striving to make bold statements, I embrace creativity for its own sake, allowing curiosity to guide my process. Each piece is an invitation to step into the in-between, to find meaning (or not), and to celebrate the joy of simply making. At the heart of my work is a desire to connect, not just with themes and ideas, but with a community of artists and viewers who, like me, are searching for a place to belong.
